Description
This retrofit column is designed to fit your Ford Truck and does NOT require modification to your original vehicle to install. This Ford Style column features a Ford top shaft and Ford wiring connectors. Pre-welded underdash mounts are included with all 1973-77 columns and are designed to fit your application. Use an IDIDIT installation kit to install your new steering column in place of the old. Add your OE steering wheel and the gripping surface of the new wheel will be in the same location as the original. The shift pattern on these columns allow you to use either a 3 or 4-speed automatic transmission. The 1973-77 column shift column comes complete with a neutral safety switch, a gear shift indicator is an option, but not included. A shift linkage (new or original) is required for installation and will attach to the lower shift arm provided on the column.
Special Notes
When installing your OEM steering wheel to your IDIDIT Ford Style Retrofit Column, the OEM wheel must be for the same year application as the column. Use of a different year WILL result in damage to the turn signal switch.

1965-79 Ford Half-Ton Truck
A new rag joint is required to install. This column comes complete with a pre-welded underdash mount that will match the original bolt pattern. A Female End Plug which connects with the IDIDIT wiring plug is also included. The wires will simply be matched by function rather than color.
For 1965-66 columns: Please note that the Bendix box was frequently used as a replacement for the Saginaw box. If not using the original steering box, a shorter length column may be required. Call IDIDIT for details.

Paid about $14 for a $7 plastic part that's only 1"x1"x3/8" with brass connectors for crimping onto wires. PLUS another $14 shipping. Outrageous price on both levels. I guess when you need the part, I shouldn't complain, but good thing I finally found the part. While it will work for my 35 year old mower's safety interlock neutral switch, I at least won't ever be needing to locate this part again.
