Adaptors are simply made to adapt the 3, 5, 6, or 9-bolt pattern to the tapered, splined top shaft of a steering column. All ididit adaptors will fit most ididit columns as well as most 1969 or newer GM passenger car columns. The adaptor is secured to the top of the column with a single nut.

The Short 9-bolt is unique. It moves the bolting surface of a steering wheel 2” closer to the dash than a standard aftermarket adaptor. Caution should be taken when using this adaptor. Note the clearance required between the wheel and turn signal lever, and/or shift arm. Modifications may be necessary for proper installation.

Grant, and Lecarra version of this adaptor will come with a horn button. Momo, Dino, Nardi, Diablo and Vette wheels do not.

Grant and Wheel Shoppe are the most popular applications for the standard three-bolt. The “Bell” style adaptor adds the convenience of a horn button to a Mullins or Pete & Jake’s wheel.
